What’s the Difference Between Broad Spectrum CBD Oil and Full Spectrum CBD Oil?

Many factors influence the quality of CBD oil. The cultivation rules and processing methods together ensure the perfect final product.

Finding the right genetics of the hemp plant is the first step. Every plant is different. The goal is to create a plant through natural crossbreeding with the highest possible concentration of cannabidiol (CBD) and the lowest content of psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

In addition, hemp synthesizes various other bioactive compounds that can be valuable. The total spectrum of extractable oil comes from all the synthesized lipids in the plant.

Besides plant genetics, the diversity of the full spectrum is influenced by the geographical location of the plantation, climatic characteristics, farming quality (organic or free-range), and other external factors.

Full Spectrum CBD Oil

After harvest, the extraction process begins. A special procedure called supercritical carbon dioxide extraction is used to extract the complete lipid content from hemp.

At the end of the process, a dense oil is obtained, containing all the fat-soluble compounds:

CBD, terpenes, phytocannabinoids, sterols, flavonoids, essential fatty acids, other lipids, and THC.

This is called full-spectrum CBD oil or, in other words, complete-spectrum CBD oil because it contains the full spectrum of the extracted cannabinoid.

Broad Spectrum CBD Oil

Since THC is a psychoactive substance and classified as a controlled substance, it is important for us to offer THC-free CBD oils! It is possible to remove residual THC using a device called industrial HPLC (High Performance/Pressure Liquid Chromatography).

The essence of the process is to pass the extracted CBD oil through a column (or column packed with a special material) under high pressure.

The packing material separates all the components based on their chemical properties. So, at the beginning of the column, all the elements are in one phase, but at the end, the compounds come out separately.

Where THC is removed from the system is isolated, while the other fractions are recombined.

This final product is called broad-spectrum CBD oil, from which THC has been removed, but many other valuable components remain intact in the oil.

Buying Broad Spectrum CBD Oil

Check out our broad-spectrum CBD products! Broad-spectrum CBD oil does not contain THC, but it contains valuable substances, essential fatty acids, phytocannabinoids, terpenes, sterols, and flavonoids.
