At USA Medical, we invest heavily in safety and potency testing, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and operate out of FDA-approved laboratory conditions. We are also vertically integrated with our USDA organic farm, ensuring the highest quality CBD, CBG distillates, and other cannabinoids unavailable on the public market.
If you want to make CBD Oil at home, keep reading to learn our exact process. Or, if you prefer high-quality, lab-tested, premium CBD products, you can buy directly from USA Medical. Let’s dive into the recipe for making CBD Oil at home.
CBD Oil Recipe
Ingredients
- Raw USDA Organic CBD Distillate
- Raw USDA Organic CBD Isolate
- Organic MCT Oil (from coconut oil)
- USDA Organic Hemp Seed Oil
- USDA Organic Orange Oil
Equipment You’ll Need
- Laboratory Accurate (.001) Gram Scale
- Bottler (for filling bottles)
- Heating unit (double boiler)
- Gloves
- Masks
- Lab coat
- Hair net
Directions
Step 1: Create the Carrier Oil Base
Combine MCT, hemp seed, and orange oil for the base. This blend provides essential omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, which promote heart health, metabolism, and immunity. This antibacterial and antifungal combination ensures a high-quality, health-supportive carrier oil.
Step 2: Heat the Distillates
Using the double boiler or heating unit, heat the CBD distillate and CBG distillate to about 160°F (or their precise melting point). Stir occasionally to ensure the distillates are fully liquefied.
Step 3: Combine the Carrier Oil and Distillates
Use your gram scale to measure the exact quantities of the carrier oils and distillates. Carefully combine the melted distillates with the carrier oil mixture, stirring thoroughly until the mixture is fully blended.
Step 4: Shake for Dissolution
Shake the mixture vigorously to ensure everything dissolves evenly. You can either use a machine for consistent shaking or shake it manually—shake it well! Allow the mixture to dissolve for 24 hours. USA Medical uses a heatless dissolve process to prevent oil degradation, but you can use low heat to speed up the process if needed.
Step 5: Final Shake and Bottling
After 24 hours, give the mixture one final shake to ensure it’s fully homogenized. Use the bottler to fill your bottles—each bottle holds 30 mL (or approximately 28 grams).
Step 6: Label and Box
Once bottled, label your products with the appropriate information. Store them in a cool, dark place to maintain the oil’s quality.
Yield Calculation
With each batch, USA Medical produces about 7,000 grams of CBD Oil. Given that each bottle holds 28 grams, this recipe will yield approximately 250 bottles per batch.
This recipe ensures you produce premium-quality CBD Oil using top-tier ingredients. If you’d rather skip the process and go straight to high-quality CBD Oil, feel free to browse our products at USA Medical.
Is It Possible to Make CBD Oil at Home?
Yes, it is possible to make CBD Oil at home. If you have access to the right ingredients, equipment, and knowledge, you can replicate a small-scale version of our process. However, creating high-quality, safe CBD Oil that meets the same standards as USA Medical requires significant investment in tools, raw materials, and safety measures.

Extracting CBD at Home: Pros and Cons
If you’re considering growing your hemp to extract CBD, there are several factors to consider. USA Medical grows hemp on USDA organic farms, ensuring our crops are free from pesticides, herbicides, and heavy metals. Growing your hemp may seem appealing, but it comes with challenges—especially concerning the purity of your soil.
Even if you avoid synthetic chemicals, the soil may contain heavy metals like lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury, which the hemp plant naturally absorbs. Without USDA organic certification, there’s no guarantee that your crop will be free from contaminants. This is why we recommend trusting USA Medical for your CBD needs—we do the hard work of cultivating pure, clean hemp to ensure the highest product safety.
Pros of Making CBD Oil at Home
