Does CBD Get You High?

Considering the complicated past in the United States with marijuana, the question of does CBD get you high is an important question to ask. Simply put, the answer is no. Legal CBD in the United States is required to have less than 0.3% THC (the psychoactive cannabinoid originally discovered in the C. Sativa plant) and USA Medical CBD is lab tested and ISO-Certified to have an ND (non-detectable) level of THC, meaning there’s no chance that USA Medical CBD gets you high. As long as you take certified broad-spectrum CBD, you won’t get high or be at risk for failing a drug test.

How Does CBD Work?

Is THC Different Than CBD?

Pure CBD is not intoxicating, so while it can have positive, calming effects on both your mind and body, there is no concern of impairment. In the same way taking magnesium reduces cortisol (the stress hormone), CBD can reduce stress, anxiety, and chronic pain by calming your endocannabinoid receptors and encouraging homeostasis. How long does it take CBD to work? This process can be felt and observed, but there is no intoxicating nature to this process – as a matter of fact, a lot of CBD users take CBD before work in order to relieve stress and have a more relaxing day! As long as you are not taking a full-spectrum CBD product (which means it includes THC) then there is no risk of CBD getting you high. Taking CBD properly. THC is the only cannabinoid known to cause psychoactive effects. Because USA Medical CBD lab tests show an ND (non-detectable) amount of THC, it is impossible for USA Medical CBD users to get high from any amount of our CBD oil and CBD softgels.

Can You Overdose On CBD?

As a disclaimer, there aren’t many studies done on toxic levels of CBD, however, according to a study published in the National Library of Medicine, a toxic level of CBD is 20,000mg, taken all at once! That’s a massive dose of CBD. For example, you would need to consume over six (6) full bottles of USA Medical’s 3000mg CBD Oil (totaling $909.93) in order to achieve a “toxic” level of CBD, but even at that extreme amount, 20,000mg of CBD is still not considered “lethal” by any means. At the absolute worst, a toxic level of CBD would cause extreme drowsiness, lethargy, an upset stomach, nausea, and potentially other unpleasant side-effects, but not death. Simply put, when taken at recommended doses, or, even well above recommended daily doses, the average CBD user never needs to worry about a CBD overdose.

What Does The WHO Say About CBD?

While research on CBD is still in its infancy, the WHO (World Health Organization) has some interesting research on CBD. According to the WHO:
  • In large quantities, CBD does affect tumor cells but has little effect on non-tumor cells
  • Limited research shows no effect on embryonic development
  • CBD is one of the only substances the WHO has classified as having no major side effects and no risk of dependency
You should never “test” the toxic level of CBD and only use CBD based on recommended dosage levels.

Does Medical CBD Get You High?

No. CBD can not ever get you high. It’s impossible for any broad-spectrum CBD or isolated CBD product to get you high, as THC is the only known cannabinoid to have psychoactive effects. Why doesn’t CBD work for me? CBD is safe and legal to use and is not toxic when administered at recommended levels, and it does not have any observable point of lethal toxicity. CBD has been classified by the WHO as having no major side effects and no risk of dependency. If you are looking for a pure, potent, and organic CBD oil retailer, look no further than USA Medical.
