Animal-Friendly Foundation
Introduction
The Animal Friend Foundation is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year in Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg County. Its main goal is to rescue, treat, and rehome injured, abused, or accident-affected animals. On average, the team cares for 600 dogs and 80 cats each year, and most find new homes within a year.
They believe animal education and awareness should start early. They’re often invited to elementary and high schools, where students pay close attention to their presentations. Every year, they also run a four-week camp for kids ages 7 to 16, where children learn to respect and care for animals through play.
Educating adults is also important, so their website features articles about common dog behavior issues, how to handle them, less common health conditions, and the importance of spaying and neutering. They’re also active on social media, where they share entertaining content as well as their work, daily life, and challenges.
Their shelter is open to everyone. Visitors can stop by every day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to see the animals, and dog walks are also available.

Which strength of CBD oil did they use or are they using: 250 mg, 500 mg, or 1000 mg?
They use the 1000 mg and 250 mg CBD oils.
How do they give it, how often, and how much do they use each day?
They give it once a day with the morning feeding by dropping it onto the food. The dog using the 1000 mg oil receives 25 drops, while the one using the 250 mg oil gets 10 drops, adjusted based on body weight in kilograms.
What changes were noticed, and how soon did they appear?
They are caring for two dogs, Juno and Thanos, who arrived with serious injuries and needed extensive veterinary care.
After longer walks or more active play, Juno would sometimes lift his right hind leg. He still has ongoing mobility limitations after his injury.
Thanos had a serious orthopedic injury and required extensive veterinary care. Both dogs remain part of the foundation’s ongoing care.
September 2023: Here’s a brief update , the oil you provided is now part of the ongoing care for three more dogs.
The first is an older dog who is receiving ongoing care.
The second dog is also receiving ongoing care.
The third dog is Hanna, a long-term shelter resident. She gets especially nervous during storms, so we keep her in a safe indoor area to help prevent injury.
